Definition

Body doubling is a productivity technique in which a person works alongside another person — physically or virtually — to improve focus and task completion. Originally used as an ADHD management strategy, body doubling has become popular in creator communities through virtual co-working sessions, livestreamed work sessions, and accountability partnerships. The presence of another person (even silently) creates a social accountability effect that reduces procrastination.
