Definition
Content Syndication is the practice of distributing the same piece of content across multiple platforms, publications, or channels simultaneously or sequentially to maximize reach and exposure. In the creator economy, syndication can mean republishing a blog post on Medium, sharing a podcast episode on multiple directories, or distributing a video to both YouTube and LinkedIn. Syndication differs from repurposing in that the content itself is largely unchanged — only the distribution channel changes. Proper syndication strategy includes canonical tags to avoid SEO penalties for duplicate content, and platform-specific formatting adjustments to optimize performance on each channel.
