Definition
Digital Single-Lens Reflex camera — a camera that uses a mirror mechanism to direct light from the lens to an optical viewfinder. DSLRs were the dominant professional camera format for creators through the 2010s, offering interchangeable lenses, manual controls, and excellent image quality. They have largely been superseded by mirrorless cameras for video production, but remain widely used for photography.
