Definition
Log footage is video recorded in a logarithmic color profile (such as S-Log, C-Log, or V-Log) that captures a wider dynamic range than standard color profiles by compressing highlights and shadows into a flat, desaturated image. Log footage requires color grading in post-production to achieve a final look, but preserves more image information for creative flexibility. It is the professional standard for high-production-value video content.
