Monetization Model

Also known as:Revenue ModelIncome ModelCreator Revenue Strategy

Definition

The specific strategy or combination of strategies a creator uses to generate revenue from their content, audience, and expertise. A monetization model defines the mechanisms through which value is exchanged — advertising revenue, subscription fees, product sales, sponsorships, licensing, consulting, events, or affiliate commissions. Unlike a general "money model" (which describes the overall financial architecture of a creator business), a monetization model refers specifically to the revenue-generating mechanics of a particular channel, product, or content property. Choosing the right monetization model for a specific audience and content type is one of the most consequential strategic decisions a creator makes.
