Definition
A Non-Linear Editor (NLE) is video editing software that allows editors to access and rearrange footage at any point in the timeline without destructive changes to the original files. Unlike tape-based linear editing, NLEs give creators complete flexibility to cut, trim, and rearrange clips in any order. Examples include DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro.
