Definition

A creative work that imitates or exaggerates another work, creator, or cultural phenomenon for comedic or satirical effect. Parody is protected under fair use doctrine in the United States, allowing creators to use copyrighted material without permission when the purpose is clearly satirical commentary on the original work. Parody is a major content format on YouTube, spanning music parodies, film parodies, and creator parodies.
