Patreon (Platform)

Also known as:Patreon MembershipCreator Membership Platform

Definition

A membership and subscription platform that enables creators to offer exclusive content, community access, and perks to paying supporters in exchange for recurring monthly payments. Patreon is one of the oldest and most established creator monetization platforms, supporting creators across YouTube, podcasting, art, writing, and adult content. Patreon charges creators a platform fee of 5–12% of revenue depending on the plan tier. For creators, Patreon represents a direct-to-fan monetization channel that is less dependent on platform algorithms than ad revenue.
