Definition
Per diem (Latin for 'per day') is a daily allowance paid to a creator, employee, or contractor to cover living expenses — meals, incidentals, and sometimes lodging — while traveling for work. In creator and production contexts, per diem rates are negotiated as part of travel arrangements for on-location shoots, events, and brand activations.
