Perma Ban

Also known as:permanent banpermaban

Definition

A perma ban (permanent ban) is an indefinite, irreversible removal of a user from a platform, community, or service. On Twitch, YouTube, and Discord, perma bans are issued for severe or repeated violations of community guidelines, including hate speech, harassment, DMCA violations, or illegal activity. For creators, receiving a perma ban on a major platform can be catastrophic to their business, underscoring the importance of platform diversification and audience ownership strategies. Perma bans can sometimes be appealed but are rarely reversed.
