Shorts Feed (YouTube)

Also known as:YouTube Shorts FeedShorts Tab

Definition

The Shorts Feed is YouTube's dedicated vertical video discovery surface, displaying short-form videos (under 3 minutes) in a full-screen, swipe-based interface similar to TikTok's For You Page. The Shorts Feed is algorithmically curated and serves content based on viewer behavior, watch history, and engagement signals rather than subscriptions. For creators, the Shorts Feed offers a distinct distribution pathway separate from long-form content, with its own analytics, monetization rules, and audience demographics. Views and subscribers gained through Shorts are tracked separately and do not always translate to long-form viewership.
