Definition
The contractual permissions granted to a brand specifying how, where, for how long, and in what formats they may use the content a creator produces for them. Usage rights determine whether a brand can repurpose a creator's video in their own ads, on their website, in retail environments, or across other channels beyond the original platform. Creators who do not negotiate usage rights separately from the base sponsorship fee are frequently leaving significant revenue on the table.
